I know how it feels going to the IELTS test hoping to pass this time, and at the end have the feeling it didn’t go well!

Today, I help other IELTS Students to overcome the fears, the anxiety, to increase your confidence so you don’t need to keep repeating the exam over and over again until you get the score you aspire.

How long it took to ace the IELTS exam

My personal journey

Back in 2009, I moved from Portugal to Australia for an overseas experience. Improving English was my number 1 priority. I thought at that time if I immersed in the culture it would be more effective, and indeed it was!

You know that moving to another country either to learn English, to work, to immigrate, or to study, if English is not your native language you need to prove your English proficiency, right?

And IELTS is the most popular exam you can take.

I repeated the IELTS exam 4 times until I got the score I needed. I know the feelings, the anxiety and stress that comes over you before, during and after the exam.

I had always taken short IELTS preparation courses to be better prepared, and it helped me, but the nervousness was still there. In fact, it was really obvious on my third attempt.

Funny or a fiasco?

Let me tell you about my third attempt.

After completing the first 3 tasks, yet still feeling a little bit anxious, there I was waiting for the last part. Speaking was always the easiest task for me, where I was most comfortable.

I love speaking, I always have something to share, and in this task the goal is to assess your level of communication: if you understand the question, your answers are clear, and so on.

So, there I was sitting in front to this lady, relaxed until half way the examiner asks a question and I went totally blank. And because the examiner didn’t rephrase it or asked other questions, silence came upon us.

I simply froze. My stress centre was activated and when this happens it is very difficult to think, to come up with ideas.

If I had taken a few deep breaths, I am sure I would recover my ability to think again. But you know, I wasn’t expecting that. Who does?

The funny thing was to stay in front to the examiner looking at each other waiting for the minutes to pass. It was a fiasco.

Well, I don’t wish this to anyone!

Some people find passing the IELTS exam easier than others. For those who lack confidence, feel anxious, stress, have repeated the exam many times I want to say that you can overcome these fears, beliefs, self-doubts that are on your way to get the score you so desperately need.

So, why would you want to keep yourself in this loop? There is no better moment than now to use your own MIND power to change the course of your future.

What I do though is to help IELTS students to BECOME MORE CONFIDENT, OVERCOME STRESS, ANXIETY, FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE during the exam and as a result get a great score.

I call this the “missing piece” for those who are struggling to get the score they so much aspire.

This missing piece consists in bringing neuroscience into practice, in this case help you to pass the IELST exam with ease.

You see, you can learn new skills, install new beliefs, make your mind work for you and not against you. And all this because the brain has the ability to change its connections and behaviour in response to new information, motivation and so on. This phenomenon is known as Neuroplasticity.

How can it help you to ace the IELTS exam ?

First, let me share 3 things you need to know about your mind. It:

The process begins with you filling a form where you share information regarding your struggles when you’re under exam pressure.

Then, I prepare a recording for you to listen based on your information and results you want to achieve.

This is done by giving the right instructions, so your mind understands what you want it to do. Every time you listen to the recording, you’re reinforcing the new neural pathway you have created.

Let’s say for example you always stay tense, anxious every time you’re taking an exam, whether is a 12th grade school exam, Uni exam, IELTS test or other exams.

Basically, your brain is associating EXAM = ANXIETY. Your brain has formed this neural connection in the past and every time you’re in a similar environment it activates this trigger.

Remember you brain cannot distinguish between good or bad, right or wrong, it simply reacts based on the information it has stored.

So, it’s important that you provide the correct information and follow the process to get the best results. You can listen to the recording any time. I advise you to listen at least twice a day no less than 21 days before the exam.
