World Needs Kindness so Much!

The New Year brings with it a new opportunity to really evaluate what’s important and work to make LIFE BETTER for ourselves and everyone around us. Richard Branson.

Sir Richard Branson suggests a few RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS to carry out through this year. If you commit and practise it regularly, it will become a habit, a powerful habit capable to lifting our energy, vibrations and expanding to the surroundings, like a ripple! Can you see the positive impact one person can make? Now imagine more people doing the same!

THE CHANGE STARTS WITH YOU

I accept the challenge! I recognise I have some habits to improve. First step is acknowledgment (DONE). Next is forgiving myself and letting it go. I cannot change the past (DONE). Finally, change and become more aware and caring (WORK IN PROGRESS).

I am sure you have also noticed on people’s faces when you cross the street, on the lift and sometimes even in your workplace, the eyes down, the lips stiff. It is sad! What can we do? Well, as I said, I decided to make an impact by starting to change my facial expression into a smiley face.

This experiment has shown me that many people don’t even look at you; on the other hand, you will find others that will reply to your smile making you feel like mission accomplished. Energetically speaking, I am sending high vibrations and when people do the same the effect is amplified. Everyone wins! And when there is no reply, well… , even though the effect won’t be great, at least I did my part and I am happy with that.

Since my early days working, I would always bring energy and enthusiasm, starting the day by praising everyone in the office. Let’s say, in the morning I would say “Good Morning everyone!”; however, some colleagues would just come in and make no comment, like no one else was there. This is just another example.

It is strange for me, it shows lack of respect! The point is if each individual takes responsibility to make a positive impact by being kind, workplaces become better places to be and ultimately it will reflect on business performance as well. One thing I know, it will be part of my organization’s culture when the time comes!

Ellen DeGeneres is another great example of practising and promoting kindness. I must say I am not a regular viewer of her show, but the times I watched I was moved by her actions and stories and most important the message she sends in every show: “Be kind to one another”.

I believe it is difficult for one person to change the world, but we can definitely change one person’s world at a time. And it can be in different ways: support, attention, donations, love and care just to name a few. In fact, I do also want to make an impact with my Blog through the experiences I share, the services I offer as well as the activities I engage in.

Kindness is such an important characteristic – so we should all work on being more friendly, generous and considerate.Richard Branson.
